General Information About Laser Surgery

LASIK LASER PRK

Laser PRK (Photorefactive Keratotomy) or surface oblation removes tissue form the very front surface of the cornea. LASIK (Laser In Situ Keratomileusis) involves cutting a flap across the cornea, removing tissue from the exposed bed (approximately 1/3 into the cornea) and replacing the flap.

Eligibility

Candidates for laser vision correction must be 18 years of age, have a healthy cornea and a stable prescription.

Who Is A Good Candidate?

A good candidate is an individual who meets the eligibility requirements LVC, is within the range of physical factors used for LVC and has realistic expectations for the procedure.
